Global Political Economy offers a fresh and timely problem-based approach to understanding the most pressing issues we face today. It spans the climate crisis to the role of platform economies, the influence of financial markets on inequality to the increasingly insecure global labour markets.
Moving beyond traditional theory-oriented introductions, this textbook tackles four transformative global shifts: the questioning of the liberal international order, the rise of the Anthropocene, technological advancements of the fourth industrial revolution, and the increasing significance of identity politics. By integrating diverse perspectives from scholarship all round the world, this essential book provides a comprehensive framework for analysing contemporary issues.
