God in New York (Paperback) (ISBN-13: 9781511437196)

What does New York City think of God ? People across the city share their struggles, relationship or rejection of whatever they consider 'God' to be. From all boroughs, all walks of life and in line with the demographics of the last census, this paints an accurate picture of what the greatest and most diverse city in the world believes today. Arranged by themes a cross-section of people talk about the issues they face where a belief, or not, in the divine touches their lives. Topics include: struggling with faith, converting, abandoning religion, hearing response, mixed marriages, death, addiction, bringing up kids, creating their own faith and searching for answers. Finally the book analyzes the statistics and discusses how we approach the divine today and the new groupings of faith that emerge if you strip away religion and just listen to what people actually believe.
