I spent 25 years as a drug addict. I lost/gave away my career as a Court Reporter/Stenographer and went to prison. I was writing throughout my entire journey through active addiction, into prison and then into recovery. I feel that my writings are inspired by God and I was prophesied over twice that I was to write a book. I give all the honor and praise to God. If I could touch one heart, change one life, encourage one person, I would be satisfied. I could not just let these poems sit and collect dust any longer. I am finally ready to share them with whoever will read them. I am so inspired and want to share my experience, strength and hope with anyone struggling with addiction and belief in a Higher Power and anyone that just loves poetry. I pray that these words find the appropriate readers and be a blessing. I have been clean and sober now for ten years and am coming up on my 11th year on December 25, 2022. (Christmas, not by coincidence) I am blessed and highly favored. Most of all, I am extremely grateful for the life I live today and the understanding and wisdom I have gained through my suffering and pain. My gratitude speaks when I share this new way of life I have been given. I have more poetry to come, as I have been writing for 25 years and have saved everything. Grateful beyond words. Thank you, for taking the time to read this!!
