God's Country: A Hill Forest Western (Paperback) (ISBN-13: 9798328991797)

Stephen Randall, a wealthy rancher from Rutherford, Tennessee, gets bamboozled by a crooked banker and decides to auction off his spread. He sets his sights on the Mexican territory known as Repblica de Tejas and puts together a wagon train full of like-minded folks. The way West is rife with danger, and the settlerfolk find more than their share of it along the way. From bandits and rustlers to low-life murdering townsfolk. And fever.

Twenty families set out from Rutherford, but hardly half that number will arrive at the settlement and claim their share of promised land. Even then Nature continues to try and cull the population with bitter cold and inadequate shelter and supplies. Spring cannot come soon enough for the new inhabitants of Hill's Forest.

God's Country is chockful of action and adventure. Lots on gunplay and heroic characters. It's a real western epic that begins the saga of Hill Forest and its eleven founding families. It's nearly 500 pages of non-stop action, and characters and places that come to life right before your mind's eye, wrapping you up so tight that you never wanna put it down.
