Glendora, like many before her, fell in love with the picture-perfect town, with its postcard appeal, but more so with the peace and serenity that shrouded it like a warm blanket. The occupants were warm and welcoming. They accepted her with open arms, and she felt very much a part of this community. She couldn't see herself living anywhere else.
She had moved here from Jackson, Mississippi where she had grown up. Raised by loving grandparents who introduced her to the Lord and took her to church every time the doors were open. Most kids would have rebelled or resisted being made to go to church, but not Glendora, she loved the Lord with all her heart and couldn't remember a time when she didn't.
Ever since her grandmother died, she felt alone. She never understood why that was when she was so busy and surrounded by people all the time. She didn't realize what she was missing until Orlando came into her life. She never had anyone to do things with. She knew that sounded silly when she had an entire church full of people willing to do anything for her or with her, but it was true. If it was God's will for her and Orlando to remain friends, then she was honored to have him as her friend, but she was willing to see what God's Will was for them.
