Norbert Bufka was born and raised in Good Harbor. He has a BA in history from Aquinas College in Grand Rapids and taught American history and Latin for seven years at Bad Axe High School. He was in sales for more than twenty years and finally Director of Faith Formation at a Midland Catholic parish for nine years. He wrote a monthly op-ed column for the Midland Daily News for about eight years and published three books. He also has a MA in Latin and a Master of Pastoral Studies degrees.
