Good Times, Hard Times, Her Times (Paperback) (ISBN-13: 9781484811160)

Abby Brooks isn't thinking about all of the bad things that could happen as she says her vows to her childhood sweetheart, all she knows is that she is pregnant with Jacob's child and they are in love. She can't possibly know that she will spend the next stages of her life dealing with an abusive, alcoholic husband while giving him a total of ten children! Not only does this happen, but she also faces the death of four of her children; two of which she is accused of having something to do with!Later on, she goes through Jacob living with another woman for seven years-even though he makes sure that he comes back to remind her all the time that he is still her husband; children that are born with mental retardation; taking care of her family on a coal miner's salary, or what's left of it after visits to the bar; daughters having children when they aren't married; and a son who ends up going to prison.Abby pulls herself and her family through tough situations and manages to instill value and respect in her children and grandchildren. There are numerous times of laughter, tears, pain, heartache, and heartfelt moments shared with everyone involved. You will truly feel as if you have become an integral part of Abby's family as you join her in all of her life adventures.
