Suzi Stembridge has written a series of eight historical and contemporary novels and one book for children. Her books are partly set in Greece (one begins in Cyprus) and in beautiful areas of Europe, particularly N.W England, Yorkshire and North Wales. She was educated in North Wales and lives on the Pennines in Yorkshire with her family where she has spent most of her life. She is an Open University Honours graduate. Her early career involved four years as an air hostess at the very beginning of package holidays in the 1960s, and then working with the editor of a Motor Racing magazine and running trips to the Grand Prix. She founded and ran an employment agency called Girl Friday and after selling that and marriage she became a travel writer and then founded and ran a tour operation and travel agency called Filoxenia and Greco-file. With this she found herself travelling all over mainland Greece and unusual islands, seeking out quieter areas for the fly-drive itineraries of this specialised business. After retirement, she and her husband designed and built a small house near the sea in the Peloponnese which they recently sold.
