Grit to Gratitude: Turning Hits Into Triumph (Paperback) (ISBN-13: 9798314407844)

In the heart of life's relentless arena, where hits come hard and fast, emerges a powerful testament to resilience: Grit to Gratitude: Turning Hits into Triumph. This captivating memoir and guide by Dave "Shotgun" Schell-former Arkansas Razorback, entrepreneur, and founder of BlueVantage and DCPacket-chronicles a raw, unfiltered journey from the depths of despair to the heights of thriving abundance.

From the dust-choked arroyo of his New Mexico childhood, where a near-fatal collapse at age eight ignited an unquenchable spark of gratitude for every breath, to the thunderous collisions on Razorback turf that stacked over twenty concussions and earned him his legendary nickname, Schell's story is one of unyielding perseverance. He navigates the brutal blows of professional setbacks-the soaring millions of Peregrine Services crashing in the dot-com bust, California's entrepreneurial peaks dissolving into 2008's financial meltdown and bankruptcy-and the personal ghosts that threatened to bury him in depression. Yet, through it all, the unwavering support of his family-Gretchen's empathetic strength and discovery of neurofeedback therapy, Adrienne's steady leadership, Madison's passionate spirit, and Sabrina's joyful light-serves as the anchor pulling him from survival's shadows.

Woven with vivid anecdotes, from daily chess battles with his father (where victory eluded him for years, yet he reset the board each time) to fierce practice-field rivalries, Schell distills life's lessons into the transformative "Gifts" Receiving the hits with grace, Witnessing your growth, Acknowledging progress, Renewing purpose, and Giving back from abundance. This isn't just a survival story-it's a blueprint for striving and thriving, emphasizing tenacity as the rare force that turns scars into triumphs and scarcity into shared legacy.

Set against evocative backdrops like the serene waters of Butterfly Cove aboard his vintage yacht SunKiss, Grit to Gratitude invites readers to embrace their own potential. Whether you're an athlete, entrepreneur, or anyone who's taken a hit, Schell's enthusiastic call resonates: "I believe in you. Let's Enthusiastically, Consistently, Persistently Pursue our Potential together!" Perfect for fans of inspirational memoirs like Educated or The Obstacle Is the Way, this book is your guide to emerging stronger, one grateful step at a time.
