Groove (Paperback) (ISBN-13: 9780999575130)

How do you step back from the edge when you bought a one-way ticket?

On a December flight bound for Tahiti, a trip arranged as a one-way exit out of despair, Adrienne Ford steps aboard, intending never to return to the life she's left behind. What follows is the beginning of a reckoning- with depression and suicide, sexual assault, faith, family, and friends.

An unflinching, first-person narrative about the glossy loneliness of Los Angeles and the shame of enduring your own worst days, Groove sheds light on the hidden costs of success, desire, and the grief of ghosts that refuse to stay buried. Part confession, part atonement, part love letter to the sheer stubbornness of survival, Groove is a raw, funny, and fiercely honest account of moving through the world, the wounds we inherit, the ruts we get stuck in, and the groove we learn to move in.

Sensitive readers should note candid discussion of depression, suicide, and sexual assault.
