Phil is saved from his self determined downfall by his longtime friend from school days, Teddy. Teddy is a character himself who marches to the beat of his own drum but his heart and allegiance is true when it comes to Phil. Jimmy Cadogan is a hateful person, an older successful attorney lacking in morals but rich in money and ambition, His mission is to destroy Phil Ferguson and gain financially in the process, sleeping with Jade is the feather in the proverbial cap. In the end Jimmy's arrogance, megalomania and utter need to do his will becomes his stumbling block..
