He Came for Love: A True Story of Love, Danger, and Disappearance in the Philippines (Paperback) (ISBN-13: 9798194356096)

He came to the Philippines looking for love. He found it in Janelle-a young woman who would become his wife, his home, and the center of a life he never imagined building so far from America.

Austin Carter was only twenty-six when he crossed the world and chose to make a life with the woman he loved. He was also a young American YouTube creator whose growing audience followed his unusual life in the Philippines. Together, Austin and Janelle built a home, worked in their small community, ran a store, and created the kind of ordinary future people dream about without ever realizing how precious it is.

But Austin was also becoming aware of something darker. Warnings reached him. He heard talk of kidnapping. He spoke publicly about his fears and even wondered what would happen if someone actually came to take him-and whether anyone around him could stop them.

Still, he stayed.

Because leaving meant leaving Janelle. It meant leaving their home, their business, their future, and the life they had fought to build together. Austin knew there were dangers around him, but he believed there would be another morning, another video, another ordinary day with the woman he loved.

Then, on October 17, 2024, four armed men came for him.

What follows is more than the story of a disappearance. It is the story of a love that brought a young American halfway around the world, a wife left waiting for a husband who never came home, and the terrible distance between knowing that danger exists and knowing when it has finally arrived.

He Came for Love is a gripping, heartbreaking journey through love, marriage, fear, hope, and loss-an unforgettable story about a young man who found a home in another country, only to have that life taken from him before he had the chance to finish building it.
