Marie Lafrance studied graphic arts, etching, and worked as a printmaker before going on to illustrate children's books. He also found lasting success as a singer with the CBC radio show Folk Songs for Young Folk, which ran from 1947-59. He was made a Member of the Order of Canada in 1974. Lionel Daunais was a distinguished baritone, composer, and lyricist. His numerous awards include the Canadian Music Council Medal, the Calixa-Lavallée Music Award, and a posthumous Denise-Pelletier Award. In 2006, he was inducted into the Canadian Songwriters Hall of Fame. As a member of the Canadian Songwriters Hall of Fame, Gilles Vigneault is hailed as one of Canada's most influential music figures of the 20th century, especially as a champion Québécois folksinger. His work often evokes his great love of nature and the passion he has for his hometown of Natashquan, a remote, windswept village on the banks of the St. Lawrence River. He has received numerous distinctions including the Grand prix du disque de l'Académie Charles-Cros in France and the Médaille Vermeil offered by the City of Paris. He lives in Montreal
