Hell Inside Hollywood (Paperback) (ISBN-13: 9782925369523)

Hell Inside Hollywood by Dan Gilbert is a Christian critique of the American film industry, arguing that Hollywood entertainment promotes moral degradation through its treatment of sex, violence, crime, profanity, alcohol, drugs, and sensationalism. Drawing heavily on contemporary newspaper reports and movie advertisements, Gilbert examines films that he argues glamorize criminals, sexual immorality, brutality, and other destructive behavior, and discusses the alleged influence of such imagery on young people and society. Separate chapters address the movie industry's profits, the portrayal of sex crimes and violence, the degradation of movie stars, and alleged connections between Hollywood and organized crime. The book concludes with an appeal to Christians and parents to oppose what Gilbert regards as the corrupting influence of popular entertainment and to protect the moral character of American youth.
