Dody Tennell was born and raised in New Orleans, LA, is the third eldest of her parents' seven children. Dody fell in love with all things art at an early age and desired to become a professional writer and overall artist. "When you don't have much, it's only natural that your level of creativity will expand, because you are forced to use your imagination." Amidst pressures to do something practical, Dody went on to college in pursuit of a "regular" career. After graduating from the University of Louisiana at Monroe in 2001 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology and working various jobs, from youth counselor to support coordinator/case manager, Dody could no longer ignore her lifelong dream. A writer of poetry, songs, children's books, stage plays, musicals, and screenplays, Dody doesn't believe an artist should be limited to just one style or genre of art. A self-professed kid at heart, Dody loves nature, animals, and music. Her motto is that you are never too old to go after your dreams. Dody attributes her strength and determination to her relationship with God and her faith in Him.
