xThe Author: Dr. Dennis Yergler is an associate professor of History and Political Science at Teikyo Westmar University. Dr. Yergler is chairperson of the Cultural Sciences Division and serves as director of the Great Plains Peace Institute. He is a Phi Kappa Phi graduate of Iowa State University, receiving a B.S. in mathematics, an M.A. in history and an M.A. in political science. Dr. Yergler receives his Ph.D. in American Diplomatic History from the University of Iowa.
