Most of Reed Guymon's stories began with simple songs for his children, giving the stories a good boost start. Reed grew up in Provo, Utah, graduated from BYU in zoology, worked as an electrical contractor, worked as an electrician in Wyoming, and worked at the BYU electric shop for 22 years. He retired in 2012. He and Harriet have five children, who helped inspire all of his children's stories. Ned Shelley was kind enough to draw all of the illustrations with no fee. He graduated from Utah State University in art and taught art at Sunset Junior High in Sunset, Utah for thirty years. He and his wife live in Sunset. Of interest, Ned has severe Parkinson's Disease, so this was not that easy to do. He recently donated many of his paintings as a fund raiser to cure Parkinson's Disease.
