Emily Meier is a graduate at the University of Texas at San Antonio (UTSA). In December of 2016, Meier graduated with a B.A. in English and dual concentrations in the university's creative and professional writing programs. Since junior high school, Meier has found creative writing to be a poignant, and powerfully therapeutic, tool. Her passion for poetry enters her short fiction with her use of descriptive sensory perception and poetic writing voice. While Meier has attended to her undergraduate studies, she has contributed to the literary community of her school and city through her public poetry readings; writing involvements in Project Palimpsest: An Interdisciplinary Student Exhibition during the spring 2015 school semester; poetry publications in UTSA's official literary magazine, Sagebrush Review: Edition XI in spring 2016; and her involvements as an intern at San Antonio's only non-profit literary-arts organization, Gemini Ink, in summer 2016. Being a part of the literary-arts community in San Antonio has played an important role in developing Meier's creative and professional writing skills. In the future, Meier endeavors to continue publishing her poetry and fiction. She also strives to work in a career that allows her to focus on, and further develop, her professional writing and literary presence within San Antonio and the United States.
