Honest With Yourself (Paperback) (ISBN-13: 9781105885365)

Prologue/An Honest Child Grows Into Being An Honest Adult Honesty is learned in the most amusing ways. As a schoolteacher, my Aunt Mildred was probably used to children asking all types of questions. It was during a summer visit that I saw how brilliant she was. While seated in a chair, she began to eat something. Her young daughter saw her mother chewing with her mouth closed when she asked the magical question: "What's in your mouth?" Aunt Mildred looked at her with a smile and said "teeth." I could have died laughing at her honesty. It's not the response her daughter expected, but it was the truth. If you look at individuals in our history books that are remembered for their honesty, you'll notice distinctions that cause them to rise above their peers. First, they are reserved in mannerisms and speech. Next, when answering questions of any nature, they normally give the facts without going into details. Finally, a smile is given with the response in such a way that a rebuttal is rarely needed. These are the same qualities I saw in my auntie. I tell you she was brilliant!
