Guinotte Wise has been a creative director in advertising most of his working life. In his youth he put forth effort as a bullrider, ironworker, laborer, welder, funeral home pickup person, busboy, warehouse worker, bartender, truckdriver, postal worker, ice house worker, horse groom, paving field engineer. A staid museum director called him raffish, which he enthusiastically embraced. Of course, he took up fiction and poetry. A Pushcart nominee, his fiction, essays or poetry have appeared in over eighty literary reviews including Rattle, Shotgun Honey, Atticus, and Exterminating Angel Press. His first book, Night Train, Cold Beer, won the H. Palmer Hall Award and enough money to fix the soffits. Wise is also a sculptor, his medium, welded steel.
