When I was in the penitentiary, I literally met thousands of Black African American Men and Boys with identical childhoods as mine, although their stories might have been different. Allow me to clarify, I was employed in the penitentiary, yet, I did "time" in 10 hour shifts with weekends and holidays off however on those days, I was still mentally incarcerated. To paraphrase Malcolm X, we are all in prison - a mental prison. It was not until I was able to go back into my past was I not only mentally paroled, but I was mentally pardoned. My story and journey are the story and journey of thousands of Black African American Brothers - young and old alike!
