I Am the Cat (Paperback) (ISBN-13: 9781479436989)

Something was wrong in the Long Island mansion where six guests, linked by an odd relationship, had assembled. And young Dr. Marc Castleman, psychiatrist on a five-day leave from an Army hospital, finds himself in the midst of a series of accidents -- they must be accidents -- a series of mad happenings in which he, all unwitting, is forced into a key role. With increasing tenseness, the realization finally comes that here, among them, is a Cat who walks by Himself -- the jungle cat in the old nursery tale, who fooled them all.

Unfolding a plot as unusual as that which distinguished her Darkness of Slumber, which was acclaimed as one of the "Ten Best" by the New York Times Book Review, Mrs. Kutak brings a fresh and exciting talent into the mystery held.
