I Didn't Know My Own Strength" is my personal account of life, tracing back to my childhood. I thought deep depression would consume me, for a little while it did, but I'm still here. I thought enduring rape and the aftermath would lead to my demise, but I've overcame. The pain of losing many loved ones and close friends is enough to overshadow even the slightest bit of hope however, some way somehow I've remained hopeful. At one point the pain induced depression was so unbearable, I ended up in a mental hospital. Due to a lack of self-love, I ended up in multiple abusive relationships-including one with my children's father, and though there were times that I feared I wouldn't make it out, I survived! Tragically, my children's father was murdered. And both my mother and I were diagnosed with cancer; my diagnosis was thyroid cancer and hers was pancreatic which she succumb to after trying to fight it. Losing my mother is a life-changing pain-a pain that I'll have for the rest of my life. I thought that pain would be the end of me, but I'M STILL HERE!

Today, I'm in the process of healing, and though I do not know what my future holds, I know who holds my future. And now my than ever I realize that I'm stronger than I ever imagined I was.
