Maria Ruiz has been a mother of small children, a math, gardening, typing and retraining teacher in San Diego, owned a company of software and hardware, then retired and traveled around the world for ten years with long time partner, Ted Druch and her pet dogs. After settling in Puerto Vallarta where she was moderator of the Puerto Vallarta Writers Group, she wrote articles for several national magazines and a book chosen as a finalist for Book of the Year awards by the Military Writers Society of the U.S.A. Returning to the states in 2013, she now is volunteering at the local zoo and is involved with a community group. She is a regular contributor to an e-magazine, Kings River Life with stories of her travels.
