Roger Moore was born on the Gower Peninsula in Wales. He was educated in Wales, England (BA, Bristol, 1966), France, and Spain and migrated to Canada (1966) where he completed his graduate work in Spanish Language and Literature at the University of Toronto (MA, 1967; PhD, 1975). Roger Moore has published 9 collections of verse (Last Year in Paradise, Broken Ghosts, Sun and Moon, Though Lovers Be Lost, Fundy Lines, At the Edge of Obsidian, Obsidian 22, Land of Rocks and Saints, and Monkey Temple) as well as 11 poetry chapbooks (Idlewood, In the Art Gallery, Daffodils, Secret Garden, Iberian Interludes, On Being Welsh, Granite Ship, M Press of Ire, All About Angels, Dewi Sant, and Triage). He is a member of the League of Canadian Poets (LCP), the Writers Federation of New Brunswick (WFNB), and The Writers Union of Canada (TWUC). He has twice won the Alfred G. Bailey Prize, from the WFNB, with Alban Angels (1995) and Still Lives (1989).
