The Author: Rhoda J. Maxwell is Professor of English at the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire. In addition, she is the Director of English Composition and Director of the West Central Wisconsin Writing Project. She received her Ph.D. from Michigan State University. Dr. Maxwell has given numerous presentations and inservices for school districts as well as state and national conferences. She is a former editor of the Wisconsin English Journal and is co-author of the text, Teaching English in Middle and Secondary Schools.
