Ruth Grace Moore born in Sanford, Florida, July 17, 1932 and lived in New York State over 14 years. Prior to her establishment in New York, she traveled throughout the Midwestern and New England States. She attended Crump High School in Illinois, graduated from Monroe Community College with an Associate of Science Degree and from Nazareth College and a Bachelor of Science Degree in Sociology May 1982. Ms. Moore retired from Rochester City School District in 1988. Ms. Moore's love for the English language began at the age of three. She always enjoyed reciting and reading poems. Her creative spirit was initiated by the fact that she frequently disagreed with the poet who wrote a particular poem. She would find herself shuffling the words to suit her own taste. Her favorite poets are Stephen Foster and Henry Longfellow. Her most inspirational poet was Fannie Crosby, due to fact Ms. Crosby was able to overcome her blindness spiritually through her love of poetry.
