Svitlana Kostiuk is a Ukrainian poet, member of the Ukrainian National Union of Writers, journalist, teacher and public activist. She was born in 1963 in the Volyn region. She is the head of the NGO, "Chornobyl Union". Svitlana is the author of 8 collections of poetry, including 2 books for children. She is a regular entrant to international and all-Ukrainian literary competitions and has been awarded first prize in five of them, most recently in the "Between the Word and Eternity" poetry contest (Naples, Italy, 2015). Her works have appeared in numerous Ukrainian and foreign collections and periodicals. They have been published in the USA, Italy, Poland, Romania and Israel and translated into English, Italian, Polish, Rumanian and Russian. About 50 poems have been set to music.
