In the Waiting: Encouraging Words for Difficult Times (Paperback) (ISBN-13: 9781947671874)

Chances are that life has thrown you a curve ball or two. Some of you have just recently joined the ranks of those who are going through hard times. Others have been walking through the valley for a while. My family has faced its share of hard times over the years, but nothing compared to the events of October 23, 2015, when our youngest son, Hudson, suffered a spinal cord injury while participating in high school football game in Blanchard, Oklahoma . . .When we entered what the Bible refers to as "the valley of the shadow of death," I discovered that this valley was crowded with folks dealing with the loss of loved ones, unexpected medical diagnoses, addictions, lack of resources and security-the list goes on and on . . . It can be a scary place. Most everyone is weary. About the time you think it can't get any darker, it does. You somehow get used to hanging out at the end of your rope.Tim Haws and his family have traveled this valley heavily for several years now-and have learned some profound, deeply encouraging life lessons along the way, lessons about God's amazing grace, faithfulness, and incredibly sustaining strength. In this easy-to-read book, replete with both humor and hard-hitting truths, Tim has put together an assortment of practical observations about the Christian walk-a walk that sometimes all too easily veers off the path of the easy and understandable. No matter where you are on your journey with Christ, these powerful stories will help you focus on Him even when life seems to be unraveling and nothing makes sense, when your strength lies totally in Him and Him alone. That focus can make all the difference-in the waiting.
