She is the Chair, Association for diagnostics and laboratory medicine (formerly American Association of Clinical Chemistry), India section. She is Fellow in the Academy of Diagnostics & Laboratory Medicine. She has been invited as adjunct faculty at Kasturba Medical College, Manipal, MAHE. She is core committee member of ICMR Taskforce on Establishment of Reference Intervals in Indian Population (TERIIP). She is associated with IFCC Committee for Reference Interval and Decision Limits (C-RIDL) and was Executive Member of the Scientific Division of International Federation of Clinical Chemistry and laboratory Medicine (IFCC). Dr. Barnali is recipient of three oration awards and seven international and ten national awards. She has many original research publications in international & national journals.
