Introduction to Quantum Chemistry (Hardcover) (ISBN-13: 9781647256975)

Quantum chemistry is the branch of chemistry that applies quantum mechanics in physical models. It involves studying the ground state of individual molecules and atoms, as well as the transition and excited states occurring during chemical reactions. Experimental and theoretical quantum chemistry are its two major branches. Experimental quantum chemistry aims to gather insights into the quantization of energy on a molecular scale, relying heavily on spectroscopy. Common methods in this realm include infrared spectroscopy, nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy and scanning probe microscopy. Theoretical quantum chemistry, on the other hand, calculates predictions based on quantum theory. This book elucidates the concepts and innovative models around prospective developments with respect to quantum chemistry. It is a compilation of chapters that discuss the most vital concepts in this field. For all those who are interested in this subject, this textbook can prove to be an essential guide.
