Irish Tony, Memoirs of a Soho Bouncer (Paperback) (ISBN-13: 9781068530616)

Irish Tony is a legendary figure of London's nightlife, known for his remarkable five-decade career standing at the doors of the most notorious clubs in Soho and the West End. From the post-war 1950s to the dawn of the new millennium, he witnessed the rise and fall of gangland empires, the golden age of cabaret, the crackdowns of vice squads, and the glitter-soaked era of pop stars and film icons descending on the night.

Renowned for his sharp wit, unshakable composure, and iron sense of fairness, Tony faced down blade-carriers, gunmen, and violent egomaniacs - yet he also escorted celebrities, aristocrats, millionaires, and music legends through the same doors. His reputation grew not just because he could break a man, but because he could read one.

Beyond the velvet rope, Tony later became a personal chauffeur to high-profile entertainers, driving stars through secret exits, dodging paparazzi in Mayfair, and escorting Hollywood royalty under the cover of night.

Now in his eighties and residing in London, he reflects not with regret - but with sharp clarity, humour, and the wisdom of a man who survived it all. His voice is authentic, streetwise, brutally honest - and steeped in the charisma of someone who has truly seen how people behave when the lights go low.

The Bouncer of Soho isn't just a memoir - it's a slice of living London history, delivered by the man who held the line.
