Elmer Axene Josephson was born in Kansas City, Missouri, December 19, 1909, of Swedish (Gentile) immigrant parents. The call of God to the ministry of His Word came at the age of 19. His public school education was supplemented at Bethel College and Seminary, St. Paul, Minnesota, and at Moody Bible Institute of Chicago. He traveled extensively as an evangelist and held three pastorates. He was ordained in the American Baptist Convention early in his ministry. He chartered and directed the work of Youth for Christ International in Wichita, Kansas in the early 50's. From the beginning of his ministry he majored in Bible prophecy, reading and studying all he could find on the subject. He married Christine Crawford at Wichita, Kansas January 1, 1961, and they worked together in the Bible Light ministry which has its roots in years of study of the Holy Scriptures and of experience in all various areas that pertain to our Judeo-Christian heritage, and is a challenging influence within the evangelical community to arouse the Christian conscience toward the emerging nation of Israel. He was instrumental in encouraging Christians in the investment of Israel bonds and to bless the nation in many other practical ways. The Josephsons have hosted many tours to Israel and have an aggregate of 8 years residency in Jerusalem and environs. Rev. Josephson authored many books, including the best-seller published by Bible Light Int'l., "God's Key to Health and Happiness" - which truths added over 60 years to his life. He departed this life October 27, 1996, but his work lives on in the many manuscripts and books which continue to be published.
