Barbara Roth grew up in a theatre family. Her father was a stage designer, her mother an actress. When Barbara was about eight years old, she started drawing her first cartoons - mostly princesses. Later, as a teenager, she started sketching her teachers as well as her cats (the latter definitely being the more fascinating personalities). After some years working as an assistant director in the theatre and musical business Barbara is currently working as a copywriter in advertising. This summer, at the summer academy on the Greek island of Zakynthos, she suddenly felt inspired to draw cartoons again. During a stay in Istanbul in November, Barbara decided to produce this picture book about cats in Istanbul.
