It's Not Me, It's My Head: Living with the Enemy, aka Bipolar Disorder (Hardcover) (ISBN-13: 9781807250638)

It's Not Me, It's My Head is Jo Overy's candid account of living with bipolar disorder, anxiety and the daily reality of a mind that does not always feel like her own.

Written in Jo's direct, unfiltered voice, this memoir explores the emotional highs, crushing lows, triggers, medication changes, memory struggles, family life, friendships and misunderstandings that can come with bipolar disorder. With honesty, humour and raw vulnerability, Jo explains what it can feel like when your head takes over, why support matters, and why simple judgement can do more harm than people realise.

This is not a medical guide or a textbook. It is one woman's lived experience, written to help family, friends and loved ones better understand what may be happening behind the silence, anger, tears, cancelled plans or need to withdraw. It is also for anyone living with mental health challenges who has ever felt difficult, misunderstood or alone.

Open, relatable and deeply personal, It's Not Me, It's My Head offers reassurance, insight and a powerful reminder that mental illness does not define a person. With the right support, patience and understanding, even the darkest moments can be faced.
