Jasara means "bold" in Arabic and speaks to Jasara's personality as she braves her way through deserts, thunderstorms, wild animals, and persecution. Historically, the time is set around the Hadrianic Jerusalem period (135 to 300 C.E). During this time the Roman Emperor Hadrian turned Jerusalem into a Roman occupied town, and placed a temple for the pagan god Jupiter on top of Jewish temples.
