Jesus Today: A Modern Parable (Paperback) (ISBN-13: 9798275714869)

This book centers on the imagined return of Jesus Christ to Earth in the year 2025. Jesus observes the complexities of modern society, discerning what aspects align with his original teachings and where humanity has deviated. This observation is not a singular event but an ongoing process of evaluation, where he identifies both commendable progress and significant failings in human behavior, belief systems, and societal structures. He draws upon biblical scripture, particularly the English Standard Version, to contextualize his observations, using paraphrases, direct quotes, and parables to illustrate his points and provide a framework for understanding the current state of the world. The core conflict arises from the stark contrast between Jesus's timeless message of love, compassion, and righteousness, and the prevalent issues of the modern era, such as materialism, division, injustice, and spiritual apathy. Jesus's guidance for the people of 2025 is presented as a call to repentance and transformation, urging individuals and societies to realign their lives with biblical principles. The resolution is not a dramatic, external event, but an internal and collective shift within the readers themselves, inspired by Jesus's wisdom and hopes for humanity's future, specifically what he desires to see flourishing in the subsequent two decades.
