I took writing classes at Harvard, NC State (Guy Owen: "The Diary of the Flim-Flam Man") UNC Asheville, Southeatren Community College in Whiteville, NC, and the North Hollywood Screewriter's School, where I wrote a screen-play titled, "Hoss," which the instructor rejected claiming it showed all mentally retarded male adults to be murderers, (Prof's son was mentally retarded.) In truth, the play portrayed "Hoss" as a victim of the State of North Carolina's gross negligence, in loco parentis. "Hoss" became the novel -- "The Governor's Fingerprints." Four wives, four divorces, and four children, bequethed a writing career of unfinished manuacripts clogging up spece in file draws. Of necessity, I became a writed of Court motions, and pleadings, where agiain I was sefl- taught and became more of a pain in the ass in courtrooms than I had become at home and at work. Furthermore, I was changing jobs more often than I was changing wives -- the first being 100% my fault. I had also become a chronic "whistle-blower"-- impossible to live with - and impossible to work for. Self-taught in life, mariage, and wriitng -- unskilled labor -- I believe I'm improving with each book. You will soon see that I favor no genre. I write stories I believe need to be told. then decide the genre. I write to myself, hoping to find enough kindred spirits to feed me.
