June Day
By Jason Barat

In a world built on virtual illusions and rigid control, only one day a year offers the chance to touch reality - and perhaps, reclaim it.

Kal Amadlais has spent his entire life within the walls of his complex, where everything - food, school, friendships - happens through a VR headset. Even his dreams are monitored. But as his first June Day approaches - the one day a year when citizens can leave their pods and see the real world - he's plagued by visions of something deeper, something wrong.

When a glitch in the simulation reveals a mirror that shouldn't exist, Kal stumbles into a truth that will shatter everything he knows. The virus that supposedly forced humanity indoors? Extinct for generations. The facility he thought was home? Just one of seventy-three, designed to keep its citizens docile and obedient.

Joined by Lisa, a girl whose smile makes him believe in something real, and Bryce, a friend built like a tank but with a heart of gold, Kal finds himself swept into a dangerous rebellion. Outside, the world is filled with mutated wildlife, raiders, and the broken ruins of once-great cities. But beyond the threat, there's hope - a resistance fighting to free everyone still trapped in the virtual lie.

June Day is a gripping science fiction thriller about love, identity, and the cost of freedom. Perfect for fans of Ready Player One and Wool, it asks: what would you sacrifice for the truth - and what if the truth itself was a weapon?
