Angela Black is a historian with a B.A. in History from the University of the West Indies and an M.A. in History from the University of Liverpool, where she specialized in international slavery. Her postgraduate dissertation, "Legal Emancipation to De Facto Emancipation: The Rise of Plantation Labourers in Antigua, 1834-1940," reflects her deep expertise in the historical development of Antigua and Barbuda.
Angela currently teaches at St. Anthony's Secondary School and has dedicated her career to making history engaging and meaningful for young learners. She is a strong advocate for the inclusion of Antiguan history within school curricula, emphasizing the importance of local history in fostering understanding, identity, and appreciation among students.
