PM Browne is a writer who finds crime fascinating...greatly. The author is fascinated with why Mr Gunslinger chose to do what he did and also how he did it. He is also very interested when eventually and inevitably, the law apprehends the perpetrator. Afterwards Browne finds himself preoccupied with where the perp made the inevitable slip? Was his plan not foolproof or did he lack some basic 'criminal instinct'? These things preoccupy the author's mind and are the basis for his books...the books he reads and, of course, the ones he writes.
