After completing a four year tour of duty in the U.S. Marines, Karl and his wife have spent many enjoyable hours traveling throughout the United States. Together they have climbed mountains, walked through the ruins of ancient Mayan cities, climbed up to the abandoned cliff dwellings of the Anasazi Indians, visited striking underground caverns, and hiked through sections of the Appalachians. After moving to south Florida, they explored large areas of the Everglades, and canoed through alligator infested waters of lakes and swamplands. They now reside in Northern Florida, within a few minutes drive to the hiking trails and waterways of the Okefenokee. Karl's stories are works of fiction, however, they are usually located in actual settings. He spends untold hours doing research to back up his stories with historical facts. Along with these facts, he often taps into his own personal experiences when writing his books.
