Keyboard Harmony (Hardcover) (ISBN-13: 9781025763132)

"Keyboard Harmony" by George A. Wedge is a comprehensive pedagogical guide designed to bridge the gap between theoretical music study and practical application at the piano. Focusing on the development of a musician's ability to hear, think, and play harmonically, the work provides a systematic approach to understanding chords, progressions, and musical structure. Wedge emphasizes the importance of the keyboard as a tool for visualizing and internalizing harmonic concepts, making it an essential resource for students of composition, performance, and theory.

The text covers fundamental elements such as triads, inversions, and seventh chords, guiding the student through exercises that build both technical proficiency and musical intuition. By integrating ear training with manual execution, "Keyboard Harmony" remains a foundational text in music education, offering timeless insights into the mechanics of Western tonal music. It is particularly valued for its clear methodology and practical exercises that transform abstract theory into a tangible skill for the aspiring pianist or composer.
