A "who didn't do it?" mystery based on history. In real life, Otto von Habsburg (1912-2011), last crown prince of Austria-Hungary and heir to the ancient title King of Jerusalem, declined an invitation to serve as temporal ruler of Jerusalem's ultra-Orthodox Jews who do not recognize the state of Israel. In the novel, he delegates the task to a fictional nephew. The result is a story of international intrigue and cultural conflicts, including gay, straight and celibate life styles. The hero ends up in the middle of the Middle East quagmire on a journey of self-discovery. Involved are neo-Nazis, the Vatican, the UN and the dance world. The author was born Hans Georg Jakobowicz in Vienna. Due to wars, work, and his restlessness, he relocated to London, Cogenhoe, Chicago, New York, Manaus, Washington D.C., Yogyakarta and Yerevan. Reviewing for little magazines and big newspapers, he has written mostly nonfiction. This, his first piece of extended fiction, was influenced by Adalbert Stifter's 19th-century "Der Nachsommer" and Carl Van Vechten's 20th-century "Parties".
