Step into the streets of Tehran in the 1950s and early 1960s through the eyes of a young boy.

In Koocheh Rafia, Yousef Alinaghian shares true childhood memories of a neighborhood where families lived with little, yet life was rich with friendship, tradition, laughter, and unforgettable characters.

From the bustling courtyards and narrow alleyways to the neighborhood bathhouse, the local school, and family gatherings, each chapter captures a moment in a world that has largely disappeared. Along the way, readers meet remarkable people whose kindness, humor, and resilience left lasting impressions on a young boy growing up in a changing city.

More than a memoir, Koocheh Rafia is a tribute to family, community, and the memories that continue to shape us throughout our lives.

Filled with original illustrations, this collection offers a heartfelt glimpse into everyday life in Tehran during a remarkable period of history.
