Introduce your little ones in English and Spanish to the importance and magic of cross-generational family relationships and how no distance can come between their special bond!
La azotea de mi abuela is a beaming tale of the love and bond between a granddaughter and her abuela. Abuela's rooftop is their haven, a place to make life-long memories, and is endlessly filled with new discoveries...until it's time to head back home. This picture book is an ode to finding joy in the little moments and the special bond between a young girl and her grandmother.
Parents will adore this bilingual English-Spanish hardcover as it clings to the love a grandmother and granddaughter have for each other and how Abuela's rooftop is where their dreams come together to soar - no matter the distance!
Grace Ann D?z is a writer, educator, partner, mother, and lifelong lover of languages. At age twelve, she taught herself Uzbek and Russian. At age 26, she decided to learn Spanish, and along the way she created a beautiful bilingual family, with a foot in Minnesota, and the other in Morelos, Mexico. She is currently a middle-school social studies teacher in Minneapolis, Minnesota where she is daily reminded of the tenacity and talents of all multilingual children, including her own.
As a child, growing up in Mexico, Judith Vald駸 B. listened to her father's storytelling, simple, spare yet vivid narratives. She often sketched images of her favorite stories to capture their spirit, hoping one day to retell the tales. In time, Judith began creating her own stories about everything, from an aroma wafting out the kitchen window to a soothing song in the distance. During her adult life, Judith called California home. She later moved to live in London, Brussels, and Bangkok, relishing stories from those parts of the world. Besides working with adults, she served with migrant organizations focused on the meeting the needs of children. Of indigenous Mexican descent, Judith celebrates multiculturalism through her stories and illustrations. She is married and has three kids, who are her inspiration.
