We can only find truth as we accept lies as deception. We may knock down some sacred altars. Thus, we do not attempt to soft-soap real issues. We ask you to examine things that you may do as a matter of tradition that may need to be altered. These are not inherently wrong or harmful, but some embrace these traditions as the Word of God itself. For instance, most Sunday morning services begin at 11 a.m. not because the Word of God commands us but because the United States used to be an agrarian culture and church service was timed to coincide with the completion of milking the cows, morning chores, etc. While tradition is important in our communities it must never be elevated above truth and thus growth.These foundations are not just trite principles but are issues we have seen in our counselling.
