L'Esprit Nouveau (Hardcover) (ISBN-13: 9781025792347)

"l'Esprit Nouveau Number 25-28" represents a significant collection from one of the most influential avant-garde journals of the early twentieth century. Founded by the architect Le Corbusier and the artist Amédée Ozenfant, this publication served as a primary vehicle for the promotion of Purism and the broader modernist movement. This volume captures the height of the magazine's intellectual and aesthetic exploration, offering a multidisciplinary look at how industrialization and new technologies were reshaping society, aesthetics, and the built environment.

The work features a diverse array of essays, manifestos, and illustrations covering fields such as architecture, urban planning, painting, music, and literature. The contributors argue for a rigorous, rational approach to design and art that reflects the precision of the machine age. As a vital historical document, this collection provides an essential window into the development of modern architecture and the theoretical foundations that would define urban environments for decades to come. "l'Esprit Nouveau" remains a cornerstone for scholars and enthusiasts of art history, design theory, and the evolution of the modern aesthetic, documenting a period of intense creative transformation.
