Let's Make a Dream (Paperback) (ISBN-13: 9798234240972)

A new English translation of Sacha Guitry's sparkling French comedy of love, marriage, and infidelity.

A married woman receives an unexpected visitor: a man who has loved her for years and has finally decided to tell her. What begins as a private confession quickly becomes a dangerous proposition, forcing all three characters to confront the distance between what they say, what they want, and what they are willing to do.

First performed in 1916, Let's Make a Dream is a quintessential comedy of manners, built from Guitry's rapid dialogue, romantic mischief, and fascination with the theatrical possibilities of conversation itself.

This new English translation brings Guitry's three-character play to contemporary readers while preserving the speed, elegance, and verbal play at the heart of the original French.

For readers of French theatre, translated plays, romantic comedy, and European drama, Let's Make a Dream offers an intimate theatrical world in which a few words can change everything.
