Much emphasis is given to the gluttonous consumerism of modern man and the effects that global warming and the destruction and fragmentation of natural habitats will eventually have on the future existence of the human species. The book deals with a possible solution to the problems that is facing mankind in the form of thirteen 'commandments' which will drastically change the everyday way of life. A few generations later a space ship reports its observations of the planet that ignored the commandments.The manuscript is a work of fiction but not in the sense of sci-fi. The facts dealing with global warming, the fragmentation of habitats and the unscrupulous exploitation of natural resources are, sadly, true.
